Located in Geylang HDB Estate, Block 93 Jalan Dua is a residential apartment flat with a total height of 10 stories completed in 1969. Due to its high concentration of homeless people in the immediate and adjacent vicinity, the site was chosen for the temporary shelter.

The aim is to design a dignified shelter that would provide holistic support to its guests and help them reintegrate into society. The shelter takes inspiration from the original building’s elements and uses interlocking forms which will become natural gathering points to create a feeling of domesticity, familiarity and warmth. Programmes like the baking studio and cafe open during the daytime would allow the public to interact with the guests and create meaningful connections in an environment that fosters open-mindedness.
